Who We Are

KidsRunIt is an educational app that helps kids ages 7-12 learn about entrepreneurship by guiding them through starting their own business. We take your family's privacy seriously, especially because we’re serving children.

Information We Collect

We collect only what's needed for the app to work:

  • Parent account: Email address (used as username) and password

  • Child profile: First name and age only — no last name, no email, no phone number

  • Business activity: Choices your child makes in the app (business name, step answers, reflections)

  • Chat messages: Messages your child sends to Moe the Fox, our AI coach

  • Learning progress: Which lessons your child has completed

How We Use AI

Moe the Fox is powered by Anthropic's Claude AI. When your child chats with Moe or takes the "What Business Next?" quiz, the following is sent to Anthropic's servers to generate a response:

  • The child's first name and current business step

  • The message or quiz answers they typed

  • Their age (for the quiz only)

Per Anthropic's commercial API terms, data sent through their API is not used to train their AI models. For full details on how Anthropic handles API data, see Anthropic's Privacy Policy (https://www.anthropic.com/privacy).

What We Don't Do

  • We do not use any analytics or tracking tools

  • We do not show any advertising to your child

  • We do not share your child's data with third parties for marketing

  • We do not collect location data, photos, or contact information from children

  • We do not load external resources that could track your child (fonts and all assets are served from our own servers) 

COPPA Compliance

  KidsRunIt complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

  We require verifiable parental consent before collecting any information about a child. Only a parent or legal guardian can create an account and a child profile.

  As a parent, you have the right to:

  • Review the personal information we have about your child

  • Request that we delete your child's information (see below)

  • Refuse to allow further collection of your child's information

  • Request changes to your child's information

Account Deletion

You may delete your KidsRunIt account and all associated data at any time directly from within the app. To do so, log in and navigate to Account Settings, where you will find the option to permanently delete your account. Deleting your account will remove all data associated with your account, including all child profiles, journey progress, business records, quiz results, and any other personal information we have collected. This action is permanent and cannot be undone. If you need assistance with account deletion, you may also contact us directly at hello@kidsrunit.com. We will process your request within 5 business days.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. This is a functional cookie necessary for the app to work — it is not used for tracking.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a secure database. We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) to protect data in transit. We retain your data only as long as your account is active.
